Job Description

The Senior High School Head will provide strategic, academic, and administrative leadership for the Senior School at Shalom Elite School. The role is responsible for ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, effective school administration, discipline among staff and learners, and successful management of public examinations in line with national education policies and the school’s vision.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide overall leadership and management of the Senior School.
• Oversee curriculum implementation, teaching standards, and academic performance up to Advanced Level (A-Level).
• Supervise, mentor, and appraise teaching and non-teaching staff.
• Ensure effective administration of public examinations (ZIMSEC, Cambridge, or equivalent).
• Maintain discipline among learners and staff and promote a positive school culture.
• Develop and implement school policies in line with Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education regulations.
• Manage timetabling, staff deployment, and academic planning.
• Monitor learner progress and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
• Engage parents, stakeholders, and education authorities professionally.
• Keep up to date with current education trends, reforms, and best practices.
• Uphold the school’s values, ethos, and professional standards at all times.

Requirements

• Diploma in Education (mandatory)
• Bachelor of Education or Degree in Education Administration / Educational Leadership
• Ability to teach up to A-Level
• Proven school administration qualifications
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a School Head, Deputy Head, or Senior Teacher at a reputable high school
• Experience administering public examinations
• Strong leadership, discipline management, and communication skills
