Assistant Storesman

Job Description

The incumbent will report directly to the Storesman and will be responsible for ensuring efficient inventory management and smooth stores operations

Key Responsibilities:
a) Setting up and maintaining stock control systems
b) Draw required stock and keep Bin Cards correctly updated
c) Ensure Minimum and Maximum stock thresholds are maintained at all times
d) Generating and maintaining bill of material and issuing stocks as per bill of material
e) Conducting stock-take and spot-check routines
f) Variance analysis and inventory valuation report
g) Updating computerized stock systems
h) Coordinate with procurement and other departments for timely replenishment of stock.
i) Invoicing and making sure that the invoice has been signed upon delivery of the stock.
j) Administer all paperwork and delivery notes as per defined procedures
k) Dispatches finished stock items to client departments and keeps record of the same.

Requirements

a) 5 O’ Level subjects
b) Diploma in Purchasing & Supply or equivalent
c) Proven experience in inventory management or stores operations.
d) Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
e) Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment and tools.
f) Attention to detail and accuracy.
g) Good communication skills.
h) Knowledge of safety and health standards related to storage.
i) Knowledge of Pastel Accounting an advantage.
J) A valid Class 4 driver’s license.
