Job Description
Oxfam Southern Africa is looking for a Human Resources Intern to assist in providing functional and technical human resources support in the implementation of all related HR operational plans to enhance the organisations' performance through our people. The HR Intern Intern will work closely with the country and SAF Cluster HR staff to ensure high
• quality HR services. This position will specifically give the intern the opportunity to learn. The internship will be beneficial to the intern as well as to Oxfam SAF. The placement should further add practical knowledge and Skills to the intern’s theoretical knowledge of human resources management. Oxfam SAF will also benefit from the wide variety of academic knowledge, professional Experience, and personal creativity of the intern.
Key Responsibilities:
Specific Responsibilities
Recruitment and Selection
Supports recruitment processes including the following;
• Assisting in coordinating the interview processes by downloading CV’s from e. ACRU, preparing
interview packs, contacting candidates, administering tests, taking part in the interviews where
necessary and finalising recruitment reports.
• updating progress of the recruitment and selection processes through the HR recruitment &
selection system, e. ACRU and sending feedback to applicants
• ensuring records of all recruitment and selection processes of employees and consultants are
correctly filed
Information Management
Ensures that all HR documentation is kept confidential, up to date and accurate by;
o. Filing all personal records (paper and electronic) in a consistent manner in line with minimum
standards and data protection regulations.
o. Updating all employee medicals on GOLD
HR Service and Support
o. Follow up on and keep an up
• to
• date record of Humanitarian staff and partner staff time
• sheets
in line with donor Requirements
o. Support line managers on orientation & induction of new employees, ensuring that each employee
receives an HR welcome pack
1. o Respond to employee queries and assisting to find resolutions to problems in a timely manner,
guided by the country labour regulations and Oxfam HR policies.
o. Assist in support for staff requests
• drafting visa letters, proof of employment etc.
o. Make follow ups to staff on mandatory courses
Payroll Management
o. To assist in running the monthly payroll
o. Production of statutory reports and submission
