Job Description

The postholder will be responsible for facilitating campaign capacity development and communications, as
well as overseeing the implementation of related activities. He/She will work in collaboration with other units,
projects, partners and Action. Aid countries to maximize the power and effectiveness of campaigns. The officer
will also oversee the implementation of Action. Aid Zimbabwe’s communications strategy, which supports the
organisation’s advocacy and campaigning work, strengthens brand identity and increases supporter
engagement. This position aims to raise the profile of Action. Aid Zimbabwe and improve the visibility of its
programs and partnerships at local, national and international levels.

Key Responsibilities:
The Key Responsibilities:
• Develop AAZ campaigns strategy in consultation with the Programs Team and in alignment with the
Action. Aid Federation Campaigns Framework.
• Lead the integration of communication, documentation and information work into the AAZ Strategy,
Annual Plans and Budgets and medium/long
• term plans.
• Ensure public and supporter campaigning and communications strategies for priority campaigns are
designed to reach and engage large audiences. Develop and produce actions that enable supporters
and the wider public to contribute to campaign objectives.
• Integrate online mobilisation approaches effectively into national strategies and plans.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Country Programme on the design and implementation of
global advocacy campaigns. Offer professional expertise to determine appropriate campaign
strategies and tactics, and lead in planning communications and mobilisation activities that effectively
influence targeted decision
• makers.
• Identify capacity
• building needs of partners, rights holders, and AAZ staff in documentation,
communication, campaigns, and information work. Develop and implement related capacity
• building
plans.
• Write, edit, and supervise the production and dissemination of AAZ publications, communication,
campaign, and information materials (e.g., newsletters, magazines, press statements, brochures,
flyers, posters, videos, etc.).
• Organize and facilitate AAZ’s public relations and marketing activities, including exhibitions at relevant
platforms (e.g., Agricultural Shows, NGO Expos, Trade Fairs, Public Meetings, Civil Society Meetings,
Donor Roundtable Meetings, etc.).
• Contribute to the development of concept papers and project proposals aligned with the strategic
objectives of the Country Strategic Paper.

Requirements

Requirements:
• A degree in Media Studies, Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or a related discipline. A
postgraduate Requirements with a focus on Gender and Development Studies, Disaster and
Livelihoods, or any of the aforementioned fields will be an added advantage.
• At least two years of practical Experience in media, journalism, communications, public relations, or
marketing. Experience in planning and executing public campaigns (including global campaigns) or
communications strategies aimed at public engagement and influencing decision
• makers is required.
