Job Description

We are a reputable and growing medical laboratory seeking a qualified and experienced Phlebotomy Nurse to join our clinical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safe, accurate, and patient
• centred specimen collection in line with laboratory and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform venepuncture and capillary blood collection for adults, children, and where applicable, neonates.
• Correctly label, handle, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
• Maintain accurate patient records and sample documentation.
• Provide professional, compassionate care and reassurance to patients.
• Manage phlebotomy supplies and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Liaise effectively with laboratory scientists, clinicians, and reception staff.
• Report incidents, specimen rejections, and quality issues in line with SOPs.

Requirements

• At least a Diploma in General Nursing.
• Valid registration with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe.
• Certified training or proven Experience in phlebotomy.
• Minimum of 1–2 years’ Experience in a medical laboratory or clinical setting (added advantage).
• Knowledge of laboratory safety, quality, and confidentiality standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal Skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
