Systems Administrator (D1)

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the above position which is based at Head Office under Parksmed Health Fund. The incumbent will be reporting to the Fund‘s Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities:
 Development, implementation, support, backup and inventory control of application software and databases used within the Fund.
 Serve as a liaison and facilitator between all departments to assist in addressing and resolving IT software issues.
 Working closely with software developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction for all computer systems used within the Fund.
 Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and software interfaces with the operating system. Analyze and evaluate present or proposed business procedures or problems to define data processing needs.
 Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and connectivity problems, including user access and component configuration.
 Select among authorized procedures and seek assistance when guidelines are inadequate, significant deviations are proposed, or when unanticipated problems arise.
 Assist personnel of other departments as a computer resource.
 Attend to user problems.
 Ensure that users adhere to IT policy and procedures.

 A higher diploma in Information Systems or Computer science, a degree will be an added advantage.
 At least 2 years’ Experience working with Oracle, SQL and Microsoft Aceess databases.
 Experience in backup procedures and familiar with backup policy.
 Knowledge of HMS, Pastel and Belina Payroll Systems.
 Proven knowledge and Experience working in a Windows Server 2003/2008 environment.
 Linux Skills will be an added advantage.
