(c) Research – the incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

Department of Applied Mathematics and StatisticsPost: Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/ Professor (2 Posts)

• An Honours degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related from a recognized institution with at least a 2.1 pass
• A Master’s Degree in Actuarial Science.
• Evidence of studying towards being a professional Actuary with an internationally recognized body (eg. IFo. A, SOA, ASSA) will be an added advantage.
• A Ph. D will be considered an added advantage.
• A teaching Requirements will be considered an added advantage.

The candidate must be capable of supervising students’ research work, assess students on Work Related Learning and must be able to teach at least three of the following:
• Corporate Finance
• Pensions and Benefit Insurance
• Investment and Asset Liability Management
• Financial Engineering
• Finance and Investments
• Principles of Financial Management
• Healthcare Insurance
• Life Contingencies.
