ANALYZING TECHNICIAN

Under the directions of the Laboratory Manager, the Analyzing Technician is responsible for performing analysis of various samples in the lab as well as performing routine analysis procedures as spelt out by management. To perform any other Responsibilities assigned by the superior.

Key Responsibilities:
 Receiving coal samples and performs analysis on all samples presented to the lab, before mining, after (blasting) mining, on the crusher plant, on the wash plant, on stockpiles
 Process and analyzing routine coal samples with standard industry testing methods established by Lab management and procedures.
 Observing results and quality control data to ensure compliant conditions.
 Informing the supervisor of any deviation from acceptable quality control and implementing corrective action
 The candidate is also responsible for calibration of laboratory machinery
 Carries out all Responsibilities safely, and in compliance with all legislation, codes, company policies and procedures.

 Degree/Diploma in biology, chemistry or relevant field
 Sound analytical Skills
 At least 2 years’ Experience in a coal mining and mineral processing environment
 Good communication Skills
 Attention to detail
