Job Description
UNICEF Zimbabwe seeks to hire a passionate and dedicated Education Specialist (Learners’ Welfare and Equity) for their Education team. The Education Specialist (Learners’ Welfare and Equity) reports to the Education Specialist (P3 Level) for guidance and general supervision.
Under the guidance of the Education Specialist (P3), the Education Specialist is specifically responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring & evaluation and coordination of inclusive Education, disability, WASH in schools, School feeding and all aspects of safeguarding for in and out of school children. Moreover the Specialist supports country office programming processes by providing expert technical advice and operational support to country office colleagues but also to internal and external partners and stakeholders to ensure that programs and strategies designed to support learners' overall well
• being, including their physical, mental, and social health established under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, international treaties/frameworks and UN intergovernmental bodies, are integrated in UNICEF's advocacy, policies, programmes and humanitarian work.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
• Education: An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Education, economics, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field.
• Work Experience: A minimum of five years of professional Experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in Education is required.
• Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local language is an asset.
Desirables:
• Developing country work Experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
• Relevant Experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
