Job Description

The ICT Teacher will deliver foundational digital literacy training to adult learners in remote or underserved communities, focusing on practical, context
• relevant ICT Skills aligned with the ECDL / ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) curriculum and HEXCO standards. The Teacher will foster digital inclusion by empowering learners with essential computer Skills needed for Education, work, and everyday life. S/he shall promote a positive, respectful, and professional atmosphere that encourages cooperation, whilst valuing the contribution that individuals make to the success of the HALO Trust Zimbabwe. This role will be based in our remote field camps in Rushinga District and interested candidates must be comfortable living and teaching in a basic environment (minimal electricity, limited access to running water and mobile network).

Requirements

• Relevant Diploma/Degree in Information Technology
• Minimum 1 year ICT teaching Experience
• Certification in ECDL/ICDL or equivalent
• Familiarity with Zimbabwean teaching curriculum
• Must be able to prepare and execute course plans independently

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver context
• relevant computer literacy sessions based on ECDL Core Modules and HEXCO standards, at varying proficiency levels
• Plan and organise course materials, lectures, and activities
• Customize lessons to reflect specific digital needs of adult learners and employ various teaching styles to fit the needs of the students
• Respond to needs of students and proficiency levels to ensure classes are appropriate and engaging
• Travel between three demining camps to teach ICT lessons at all of them, over the course of a three
• week working cycle
• Prepare and assign appropriate homework and interesting exercises
• Mark and return work in a timely fashion, while providing constructive feedback
• Assist staff members at an advanced level of ICT who are attempting to write ‘O’ level examinations
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of ICT training equipment
• Keep a record of students’ attendance and grades
• Provide feedback based on workload and classroom behaviour
• Monitor and report technical or logistical issues
