Job Description

Reports to: Director, Asset Protection Services

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Security and Risk Management/ Police and Security Studies/ Criminology/Law or Business Administration.
• A Master’s degree in any of the above, or any related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of Experience in security management or a related field, preferably in a higher Education setting, of which 5 years must have been in a senior management position.
• Experience in working in uniformed forces is a distinct advantage.
• Certification in security management, or a related field, is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director, Asset Protection Services in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and strategies.
• Directs overall department strategic planning, organizational development, human capital actions, compliance, resource allocation and budgets.
• Coordinate all security operations relating to important University events.
• Responsible for performance planning, measurement and appraisals of all personnel in the department.
• Provide counsel on the interpretation and implementation of University rules and regulations.
• Supervise security personnel, including managers, Asset Protection officers and other ranks, and provide guidance and support.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Supervise the investigation of incidents of theft, vandalism, and other security breaches, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies to ensure effective security operations.
• Develop and deliver training programs for Asset Protection personnel and employees on security procedures and protocols.

• ordinate community engagements programs falling under the purview of the Asset Protection Services department
• Carrying out any other Responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Asset Protection Services.
