Job Description
Reports to: The Vice Chancellor
Requirements
Ÿ A Bachelor’s degree in International Relations/ Public Administration/Political Science/ Communications/ Public Relations or a related field.
Ÿ A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
Ÿ Minimum 3 years of Experience in protocol management, diplomatic engagements, or event coordination at a senior level.
Ÿ Strong understanding of protocol procedures, diplomatic etiquette and international engagement strategies.
Ÿ Experience coordinating high
• profile events and managing official engagements.
Ÿ Exceptional organizational and interpersonal Skills with a high level of professionalism.
Ÿ Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Ÿ Proficiency in one or more foreign languages will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
Ÿ Overseeing the planning, coordination and execution of high
• profile university events, ceremonies and official engagements.
Ÿ Ensuring adherence to protocol guidelines during university functions and maintaining diplomatic decorum.
Ÿ Managing travel logistics, including visa arrangements, accommodations and transport for university officials and international guests.
Ÿ Establishing and maintaining relationships with Government offices, diplomatic representatives and key stakeholders.
Ÿ Advising university leadership and staff on protocol matters, including etiquette for formal engagements.
Ÿ Facilitating collaborations with international institutions and overseeing official signing ceremonies.
Ÿ Monitoring developments in international protocol standards to ensure best practices.
Ÿ Supporting knowledge dissemination through workshops on protocol, diplomatic procedures and event management.
Ÿ Coordinating with other departments to ensure the successful hosting of dignitaries and international
delegations.
