Job Description

ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Zimbabwe works in partnership with the Government of Zimbabwe, humanitarian and development actors, the private sector, and local communities to address immediate food needs while supporting long
• term solutions to hunger and malnutrition.

Requirements

• Education: Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work Experience and/or trainings/courses.
• Experience: At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional Experience in food security analysis, vulnerability assessment, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields.
• Language: Fluency (level C) in English language and the duty station’s language, if different.

Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all
• inclusive, within delegated authority):
• Lead or coordinate food security and vulnerability assessments (e.g. EFSA, CFSVA, market assessments) to inform programme design, targeting, and implementation.
• Design and manage monitoring systems (e.g. process, output, and outcome monitoring), ensuring consistent and high
• quality data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop and validate assessment and monitoring tools, methodologies, and guidance materials tailored to context.
• Oversee or support the collection, analysis, and interpretation of primary and secondary data on food security, nutrition, markets, and related indicators.
• Ensure the production and timely dissemination of analytical products (e.g. assessment reports, bulletins, dashboards) that meet corporate quality standards.
• Coordinate with internal programme teams to ensure monitoring and assessment evidence is used for decision
• making, adaptive management, and learning.
• Support evidence
• based programme design, including needs
• based targeting, prioritisation, and beneficiary selection.
• Provide technical support and capacity strengthening to WFP staff, partners, and government counterparts on assessment and monitoring methodologies.
• Collaborate with government agencies, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners to promote harmonised approaches and joint assessments where appropriate.
• Manage and supervise RAM staff and field teams as required, ensuring effective performance management and professional development.
• Ensure that assessment and monitoring activities adhere to WFP’s corporate policies, data protection, and ethical standards.
• Contribute to resource mobilisation efforts by providing evidence and analytical inputs to proposals and donor reporting.
• Represent WFP in inter
• agency forums, technical working groups, and relevant coordination mechanisms.
• Perform other related Responsibilities as required.
