SPECTACLE WORKSHOP OPERATOR, OPHTHALMOLOGY UNIT

The University of Zimbabwe is inviting suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following positions that have arisen at the University of Zimbabwe Quinary Hospital which includes the University of Zimbabwe Specialist Medical Centre.

Requirements:
• Must possess a Diploma or Certificate as an Optical Laboratory Technician
• Minimum of two years’ Experience working as an Optical Dispensing Assistant

The successful candidate must be able to:
• Fabricate, assemble, and fit spectacles according to prescriptions and customer needs.
• Responsible for cutting, edging and mounting lenses into frames, as well as adjusting and repairing eyewear.
Ensure the quality and accuracy of the finished product, often working with specialised tools and machinery.
