Email Format & Frequency

Email Structure

Job Alert Email Contains:
  1. Header: Alert name and number of new jobs
  2. Job Listings: Each job shows:
    • Job title (clickable link)
    • Company name
    • Location
    • Salary (if disclosed)
    • Posted date
    • "Apply Now" button
  3. Footer: Links to:
    • Manage alerts
    • Update preferences
    • Unsubscribe

No Jobs Found

If no new jobs match your criteria:

  • You won't receive an email (to avoid spam)
  • Check your dashboard for alert statistics
  • Consider broadening your criteria if you haven't received alerts in a while

Best Practices

Instead of one broad alert, create several specific ones:

  • "Senior Accountant in Harare"
  • "Remote IT Jobs"
  • "Part-time Marketing Roles"

This helps you quickly identify which type of job is available.

  • Don't make filters too narrow (you might miss opportunities)
  • Avoid setting a minimum salary too high initially
  • Consider nearby locations if limiting by geography
  • Review alert performance after 2 weeks and adjust

  • Apply within 24 hours of receiving an alert
  • Early applicants are often viewed first
  • Popular jobs fill quickly
  • Set aside time daily to review alerts if you choose daily frequency

  • Update CV regularly with new skills and experience
  • Complete all profile sections to improve matching
  • Upload a professional photo
  • Keep contact information current

If receiving too many alerts:

  • Consolidate similar alerts
  • Switch from daily to weekly frequency
  • Add more specific filters
  • Pause alerts you're not actively using
  • Delete outdated or duplicate alerts
Important Notes
  • Job alerts don't guarantee you'll find a job - you still need to apply and interview well
  • Alerts are sent based on when jobs are posted, which can vary
  • Some jobs may fill before you receive the alert
  • Check spam folder if you're not receiving alerts
  • Verify your email address is confirmed
